Account Specialist

The Account Specialist drives revenue growth by managing an assigned customer base, developing strong relationships, and consistently achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals. This role focuses on inside sales, warm calling, and consultative selling to understand customer needs, recommend appropriate services, and provide accurate pricing. The Account Specialist collaborates closely with outside sales and sales operations teams, maintains accurate records in CRM and ERP systems, and supports the full customer lifecycle from lead management through onboarding and ongoing account support.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for an assigned customer base, contributing to overall corporate sales objectives.
  • Use warm calling techniques to establish rapport, build trust, and develop long-term relationships with customers.
  • Listen carefully to customers to identify their needs, recommend appropriate products and services, and issue accurate pricing.
  • Clearly communicate product and service features, benefits, and unique value propositions to customers.
  • Collaborate with outside sales regions to ensure smooth workflow and coordination on complex sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date customer records in CRM software in line with established protocols.
  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate quotes using both CRM and ERP systems.
  • Manage assigned leads effectively, including timely follow-up, qualification, and conversion of prospects into new customers.
  • Onboard new customers by guiding them through initial setup, explaining processes, and ensuring a positive first experience.
  • Maintain frequent, proactive contact with existing customers to strengthen relationships, build trust, and identify additional opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services, staying informed about new offerings and updates.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations to follow and refine current processes that support sales efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Read and interpret documents such as Excel worksheets, quotations, purchase orders, and shipping documentation to support accurate order processing and customer communication.
  • Write professional emails and other correspondence to customers and internal team members, ensuring clear and concise communication.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or team members to present information, explain offerings, or provide updates.
  • Handle stressful and difficult situations tactfully, maintaining professionalism and focusing on customer solutions.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned to support the broader sales and operations teams.

Essential Skills

  • Proven sales, inside sales, or account management experience with a focus on achieving defined sales goals.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze customer needs, propose solutions, and make sound decisions.
  • Experience working in an ERP system to support quoting, order management, and customer account activities.
  • Experience using Excel to read, interpret, and work with data such as worksheets and reports.
  • Experience using sales CRM software and related sales tools to manage leads, opportunities, and customer records.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Excel worksheets, quotations, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
  • Ability to write professional emails and other business correspondence with clear and concise communication.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members, presenting information in a confident and engaging manner.
  • Ability to tactfully manage stressful and difficult situations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Inside sales experience is preferred, especially in a role involving warm calling and account management.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand customer operations and align solutions to their needs.
  • Eagerness and ambition to learn and grow within a sales-focused environment.
  • Comfort using multiple sales tools and systems, including CRM, ERP, and Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with outside sales teams and sales operations to support complex opportunities.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position based in a newly renovated and expanding facility, offering a modern and refreshed workspace with a recent grand opening. The role involves daily use of CRM and ERP systems, as well as Excel and other sales tools, in a collaborative environment that supports close coordination with outside sales and sales operations teams. The work setting emphasizes professional communication, structured processes, and a performance-driven culture where strong results can lead to additional earnings through bonuses tied to overall company success.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Canton, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.50/hr.
