Location Location: Atlanta, GADepartment Information The Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB, https://research.gatech.edu/bio) is located in Georgia Tech's thriving Biotechnology Complex was launched in 1995. IBB serves to catalyze new research and education initiatives at the interface of bioengineering and bioscience and to integrate the broad range of bio-related activities throughout Georgia Tech and its partner institutions. Job Summary The Accountant is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, analysis and reconciliation of financial transactions; examination, investigation, audit and review of records, reports, financial statements, information systems, and management practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policies and efficient and effective operations; This role is critical in developing and implementing procedures to ensure uniform accounting practices, internal controls, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations and Institute policies.Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Compile and verify the accuracy and validity of complex accounting transactions, often requiring in-depth analysis and resolutionJob Duty 2 - Prepare reconciliations of a variety financial dataJob Duty 3 - Post and or review posting of transactions to appropriate accountsJob Duty 4 - Prepare and review financial schedules and reportsJob Duty 5 - Maintain financial recordsJob Duty 6 - Prepare budget revisions, as neededJob Duty 7 - May provide explanations and/or work direction to other accountants and clerical personnel regarding more complex assignmentsJob Duty 8 - Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Educational RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experienceRequired ExperienceThree years of job related experienceRequired Documents to Attach Attach cover letter and resume as PDFs.
