Direct HireOverview:Our client is a well-established and growing construction company known for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining a strong reputation for excellence. The company is private equity backed and operates multiple locations across the region.They are seeking an Accounting Manager to join their corporate team. This position offers an opportunity to oversee core accounting operations partner closely with leadership and play a key role in supporting continued growth.Position Summary:Reporting to the CFO the Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting functions ensure accuracy of financial reporting and supervise the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams. The ideal candidate has experience in project-based or construction accounting and thrives in a collaborative hands-on work environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee full-cycle Accounts Receivable and Collections including preparation of large monthly invoices and maintenance of customer recordsManage Accounts Payable processes vendor records and annual 1099 reportingRecord daily cash transactions and reconcile multiple bank accounts each monthMaintain and update Work in Process (WIP) and project job costing reportsManage fixed asset schedules and related depreciation entriesPrepare and file monthly sales tax reportsCalculate and process monthly sales commissionsSupport payroll processing for hourly salaried and commissioned employees including quarterly payroll tax reportingReconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the general ledgerPrepare monthly financial statements and assist the CFO with financial reporting and analysisParticipate in the annual budgeting and external audit processesProvide information to outside accountants for annual tax filingsMaintain organized financial document retention systemsSupervise and mentor AR and AP team membersPromote collaboration between accounting/finance and other company departmentsQualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related fieldConstruction experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.Payroll and sales tax filings (Heavy Highway tax filings would also be nice but not required)Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting and month-end close processesProcessing payrollExperience in project accounting or construction industry accounting preferredPayroll and sales tax filings (Heavy Highway tax filings would also be nice but not required)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general ERP systemsStrong attention to detail organization and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesPreferred Experience:Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Timberline or ComputerEaseCPA or active pursuit of CPA a plusCompensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary up to $120K (commensurate with experience)Annual discretionary bonusComprehensive health dental vision life and disability insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid time off and holidaysBusiness-casual team-oriented work environment (on-site position)Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related fieldRequired Experience:Manager Key Skills Internal Audit,Supervising,Data Entry,Compliance,Customer Service,Accounting & Finance,General Ledger Accounting,IFRS,External Audit,Microsoft Excel,ERP,Payroll,Financial statement,ACCA,CPA Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
