Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) This is for you if you have at least two years of accounting management as a Team Lead, Lead, or Manager.Primary Responsibilities:Lead a team of accountants - Two AccountantsDevelop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial statements, ensuring best practicesMaintain internal control structure and procedures for financial reportingResolve high level financial issuesManage the audit process and work with outside auditors regarding accounting and reporting issuesOversee the preparation and analysis of external financial reporting ensuring the quality, reliability and timeliness of the reportsProvide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, rules, regulation, and lawsSummarize findings on the monthly, quarterly or annual reports to managementCoordinate and support the Company's strategic and operational planningSupport various special projects as requiredCollaborate with other functional areas to provide superior customer serviceSpecial project ownershipImplement new groups and be a subject matter expert in the accounting software.Review and approve daily cash transactions for multiple accounts This position supports Taft Hartley and Association Trust funds You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of supervisory experienceExperience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities, and achieving solutions under deadlines.Intermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management to drive sound business decisionsExpert level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and other financial reporting toolProven ability to go into the office in Lexington, KY 2-3 days a week. Preferred Qualifications:CPA/CMA or other equivalent licensure or certification; Active status2+ years demonstrated progression in financial reportingExperience with daily cash transactions for multiple accounts and intermediate knowledge of trust fund accountingProven excellent written and verbal communication skillsProven advanced analytical and information gathering skills; Proven ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data Careers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
