Job Description

Summary/Objective: In this role the Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing all accounts receivable functions and tracking activities such as: tracking accounts any and all types of cash receipts managing past due accounts and creating financial reports. The Accounts Receivable Manager needs to be effective and efficient with their processes and procedures in order to track and audit as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Manages the daily billing and collections departments activitiesIdentifies and assigns team members to customer accountsHires trains supervises and evaluates the accounts receivable and collections department to ensure all deadlines and responsibilities are metMonitors reviews and ensures accurate and timely submission of weekly customer billings Ensures timely recording of customer payments; daily deposits of cash receiptsEnsures accuracy of coding to general ledger accounts and includes detailed description on billing statements as required by customer requirementsReconciles the accounts receivable sub-ledger accounts and agrees to accounts receivable month-end balance and cash receipts to bankPrepares an analysis of accounts receivable transactions to identify missing weekly billings misapplication of cash receipts and other anomalies that may explain variances in account balancesCoordinates setup of new accounts receivable with operations/relationship managersExtensive ongoing communications of customer accounts between multiple departments for accurate production of work productTimely responds to customer inquiriesOrganizes records of billings and depositsSet collection objectives to improve cash flow and early identification of problem accountsPrepares weekly customer aging reports for managementEnsures collection efforts are being performed on delinquent customer accounts and tracked accordingly with follow-up performed with a sense of urgencySends out monthly customer aging statementsNegotiate with clients in non-payment situation in partnership with managementPrepares monthly quarterly annual and ad-hoc forecasting reportsMonitors and assesses Accounts Receivable and Collections Departments workload and reassigns as necessary; cross train employeesContinuously evaluates and implements systems and/or new procedures to streamline and improve business processesEnsures proper coverage for vacation and absences as neededPrepares and maintains department policies and procedures and desk instructionsParticipates in annual audits as assigned by the Corporate ControllerCore Behaviors:Demonstrate to comply with Custom Goods Core Behaviors:Servant LeadershipPassion for ExcellenceIntegrityResilientIntense Safety FocusTrustRequired Education and ExperienceBS/BA Degree in Accounting Finance or Business Administration (Preferred)Proven work experience as an Accounts Receivable Manager/Collections or Supervisor five years minimumMeticulous attention to details and accuracy in work productDemonstrates analytical problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesExcellent time management skillsExemplify good communication skill and ability to communicate professionally with others both verbally and in writingDisplay problem-solving skills under demanding conditions and deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint Familiarity with advanced formulas in MS ExcelAble to lead a team of five team members time effectivelyManage and develop others in order to achieve organizational goals.Hands-on experience with accounting software; preferred NetSuite but not a requirementAbility to create and present detailed reportsAAP/EEO Statement: Custom Goods LLC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race religion color sex national origin citizenship status uniform service member status age disability sexual and gender orientation genetic information or any other protected status in accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws.
