While Western Hills would like to hire a Recreation Therapist for this role ALL skilled Activities Directors applying for this position will be considered.Position SummaryThe Activities Director (Non Recreation Therapist) plans organizes develops and directs quality activities for patients ensuring that the recreational physical intellectual spiritual and social needs of each patient are met in accordance with all applicable laws regulations and Life Care standards.Education Experience and Licensure RequirementsTwo (2) years experience in a social recreation program within the last five years one of which was full time in a patient activities program in a health care settingCompleted State approved activity trainingPrior experience with geriatrics preferredSpecific Job RequirementsDemonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferredPossess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionKnowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws regulations and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityAbility to implement and interpret the programs goals objectives policies and procedures of the departmentPerform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates vendors etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life CaresCode of Conductand completes mandatoryCode of Conductand other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsFulfill core competencies of licensed position and provide clinical oversight within discipline and in accordance with rehab practice standardsPlan develop organize implement and evaluate quality activity programs (includes entertainment exercise relaxation and education)Make daily rounds to ensure activities team is performing to standards and patient needs are being metAppropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behaviorEscort patients to and from activitiesMake regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activitiesEffectively manage and operate within budgetExhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamSit stand bend lift push pull stoop walk reach and move intermittently during working hoursRead write speak and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity EmployerRequired Experience:Director Key Skills Ale,Civil Construction,Formwork,Jboss,E-Commerce,ASP Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
