If youre interested in joining a high performing team pushing the boundaries with a clean sheet development of re-usable liquid launch vehicle this is your opportunity!ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING MANAGERBased out of Rocket Labs Headquarters in Long Beach CA the Manager is responsible for leading a team of highly skilled Additive Manufacturing Engineers and technicians in the development of new products and product revisions as related to both Rutherford and Archimedes engines. You will be responsible for production execution overall equipment efficiency and continuous development of the production processes for machined components.WHAT YOULL GET TO DO:Lead and manage a team of direct and indirect reports within the machining team across multiple shiftsSet the gold standard for the quality of machined partsManage Additive production processes within a predefined area and ensure safety at all timesResolve reoccurring non-conformance issuesReview work instructions and make recommendations when neededIdentify and set-up training programsContinual optimization of machining processes for efficiencyCollaborate between design and manufacturing engineeringCoordinate repairs with the maintenance teams in a timely mannerManage capacity planning of equipment and personnelYOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:12 years of experience in a machining environment8 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment5 years of management and/or leadership experience with direct reportsTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:5 years of experience in R&D or prototype environmentExperience working with EOS Nikon AMCM and DMG equipment both LPBF and DED technologies.Strong toolpath and parameter understanding for LPBFStrong 5-Axis control and programming knowledgeProficient in interpreting engineering drawings blueprints and GD&T symbolsAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written)Strong leadership skillsKnowledge of Lean principles and Six SigmaAbility to adapt to constant changing work assignments and a fast-paced work environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as neededAbility to travel and communicate outside of work hoursStanding for long periods of time climbing up and down ladders bending grasping sitting pulling pushing stooping and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionAble to lift up to 25lbs. unassistedMust be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spacesMust be able to move repetitively bend or twist and use hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controlsMust be able to walk or stand for extended periods 8 hours minMust be able to stoop bend crawl and being able to maneuver in tight spacesLevel and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package at Rocket Lab.
