Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAdjunct Faculty - Addictions, Spring 2026 Term 2, Fully RemoteNo Office LocationPart timeJR101510The OpportunityLesley University’s Department of Expressive Therapies is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: GEXTH 6040, Addictions, Spring 2026 Term 2, Mondays 4-6:30pm, fully remote. Course Description: This course takes a holistic approach to understanding and treating substance use disorders and addictions. Students will explore addiction etiology, stigma, diagnosis, and access to care while critically analyzing assessment and treatment models. Key topics include harm reduction, all pathways to recovery, and family impact. Emphasizing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and arts-based approaches, this course prepares students to integrate evidence-based and person-centered strategies in substance use treatment and prevention.Qualities and CapabilitiesA successful candidate will have:Master's degree in Counseling or Expressive Therapies disciplines required; PhD preferredDemonstrated successful experience teaching courses on addiction within an Expressive Therapies or Counseling program at the master's levelExcellent verbal and written communication skills Why LesleyLocated in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley University is highly regarded for its graduate and undergraduate programs in the human arts of education, the arts, and applied social sciences.
