We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.Position Title:Adjunct Faculty, Physician Assistant StudiesPosition Number:999972School/Division:Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant StudiesFull-Time or Part-Time:Part-TimeDescription:Hofstra University’s School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies seeks an Adjunct Clinical Academic Faculty member to teach in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Reporting to the Program Director, the adjunct faculty member will provide instruction during the didactic, clinical, and research phases of the PA program across Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provide dual-degree, didactic year, clinical year, and/or research semester instruction during Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.Instruct and assess students in courses such as physical examination and diagnostic modalities, correlative medicine, structure lab, simulation activities, and summative exams.Proctor examinations and assist with exam administration.Identify students with performance deficiencies and develop strategies to address deficiencies, including remediation exercises.Act as a liaison to core faculty for college resources, textbooks, and teaching materials.Update instructional materials on learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and ensure course materials are posted in a timely manner.Collaborate with program leadership to enhance curriculum design and maintain compliance with accreditation standards.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director.Qualifications:Must hold a current Physician Assistant license in New York State and be NCCPA certified.Minimum of a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, Health Professions Education, or a related field.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the physician assistant profession.Willingness to participate in a collaborative faculty process and contribute to program development.Preferred Quals Summary:Previous teaching experience in physician assistant education or clinical instruction.Special Instructions:Please upload the following documents with your application for consideration:Cover letter.Curriculum vitae.Teaching statement including evidence of effectiveness as an educator and approach to creating an inclusive learning environment.Contact information (email and phone number) for three professional references.All applications received by January 30, 2026, will receive full consideration.
