Job Title: Adjunct Faculty School of Theology & MinistryReporting Relationship: Chair School of Theology and MinistryUnit: IWU-MarionDepartment: School of Theology & Ministry-IWUMCampus Location: Noggle Christian MinistriesSummary of Position: Adjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjuncts will employ a range of engaging teaching strategies designed to foster student learning and stimulate class discussion. Applicants must have appropriate academic or professional experience within the given academic discipline demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning and be able to integrate their Christian faith into the classroom content.Duties and Responsibilities Attend and lead all required class sessionsPromptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the universitys learning management system)Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely mannerQualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.EducationMasters or doctoral degree in a field relevant to the subject(s) to be taughtExperienceRelevant ministry and teaching experience is highly valuedRequired SkillsTeaching: Adjunct faculty should demonstrate excellence in pedagogy classroom management designing assignments and classroom activities explaining complex ideas in a way students can understand and integrating Christian faith with the course materialAdjuncts are also expected to grade assignments and post grades within a reasonable time frameTechnology: Adjunct faculty are required to utilize the learning management system (Brightspace) and any in-classroom technology necessary for excellent instructionMinisterial: Adjunct faculty should demonstrate the ability to integrate their faith with their teaching and to connect with students relationally providing genuine care for the student as a person while also maintaining appropriate boundariesIWU Kingdom Diversity StatementIWU in covenant with Gods reconciling work and in accordance with the Biblical principles of our historic Wesleyan tradition commits to build a community that reflects Kingdom diversity.
