Online asynchronousDuration of class: 16-week semester. Online asynchronousTime of class: 16-week semester. Online asynchronous (virtual office hours each week is expected) Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders: This course focuses on students with autism and examines the variety of exceptionalities and special needs of these children. Each criterion listed in the DSM-5 will be examined in addition to neurobiological, psychological, educational, social, and emotional factors. Students will be exposed to a range of specialized and individualized instructional strategies and supports for students with Autism, including the development of social and emotional skills and strategies for successful inclusion.Compensation: $500 - 1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.Requirements:Degree requirements for position: A minimum of a Master's Degree in Special Education Previous teaching experience: A minimum of 5 years teaching and working with students with Autism. Teaching in the higher education (online) environment preferred.
