DescriptionPosition OverviewAdjuncts are hired on a course basis each term.Salary Range for Non-Instructional Adjuncts in this academic area is $3,500.00 - $5,000.00 per course/assignment.The Division of Education and Leadership in the College of Education and Human Development at Governors State University is seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to serve as a Non-Instructional Adjunct Faculty Member in the Interdisciplinary Leadership (INLD) Program. This specialized position focuses exclusively on providing comprehensive dissertation development support to doctoral students throughout their research journey.Essential ResponsibilitiesPrimary ResponsibilitiesDissertation Support ServicesGuide doctoral students through the complete dissertation proposal development processRegularly communicate deadlines and serve as the liaison for document approval processes, hearing and defense meetings logistics, recordings, and announcements, and coordinate hooding/commencement participation and program informationAssist students and faculty with the committee chairperson selection processProvide technical expertise and support throughout the IRB (Institutional Review Board) application processAssist students with formatting, organization, and submission of final dissertation documentsEnsure compliance with university dissertation standards and requirementsResource Development and ManagementDevelop and maintain standardized templates and resources for dissertation componentsCreate comprehensive guides and documentation for dissertation processesUpdate and refine support materials based on evolving academic standardsMaintain current knowledge of dissertation formatting requirements and submission proceduresEducational ProgrammingConduct regular workshops on research methodology and academic writingFacilitate group sessions on dissertation development best practicesProvide individual consultations and technical guidance to doctoral studentsCoordinate with faculty to ensure alignment with program objectivesAdministrative and Technical SupportCollaborate with INLD Program Coordinator on program improvement initiativesMaintain detailed records of student interactions and progressParticipate in program meetings and planning sessions as requiredStay current with institutional policies and procedures related to doctoral educationRequired and Preferred QualificationsRequired QualificationsEducation: Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) from an accredited institutionExperience: Minimum 3 years of experience in doctoral education, dissertation supervision, or academic support servicesTechnical Skills:Proficiency in academic writing and research methodologyExperience with IRB processes and regulatory complianceAdvanced knowledge of dissertation formatting standards (APA 7th Ed.)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and academic software platformsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as dissertation committee member or supervisorBackground in interdisciplinary research methodologiesExperience developing educational resources and conducting workshopsFamiliarity with online learning platforms and virtual support deliveryKnowledge of statistical software and data analysis toolsSupplemental InformationInterested candidates should submit the following to the application:Letter of application addressing qualifications and experienceCurrent curriculum vitaeThree professional references with contact information
