Job SummaryProvides Hazardous Waste Operation Workers (HAZWOPER) training to students in the Health Physics Technology Program in accordance with Department of Energy and industry standards.Adjuncts are paid at $900 per credit, and this a 1 credit course.Typical Job FunctionsTeaches HPT-102 - 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER TrainingProvides instruction and develops related instructional materials (such as syllabus, lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others) Coordinates with department leadership to meet program outcomes and coordinate curriculum Coordinates with lab instructor to align lecture topics with laboratory activities for students in The Health Physics Technology ProgramHolds regular office hoursCompletes required campus-wide trainings Performs other job-related duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree, journeyman license/certification, or technical certificateCompleted an instructional (train-the-trainer) HAZWOPER program>1 year experience as an instructor or trainerIncumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI does not sponsor H-1B Visas)Additional Desired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher post-secondary degree3-5 years instructional experienceNRRPT (national registry for radiological protection) or CHP (Certified Health Physicist) certificationBilingual (Spanish)________________________________________________________________Physical Demands and Work Environment:Sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gross manipulations (involves hands) and standing or sitting (combination). Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. Onsite work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.Background Investigations: Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position.
