Posting Number:F000470Position Title:Adjunct Instructor of JapaneseDepartment:World Languages and CulturesDivision:Academic AffairsFaculty Status:Per Course Part-Time FacultySupervisor Title:Chair, Department of World Languages and CulturesStatus:Per Course Part-time FacultyTenure Track:NoSalary Range:$3,840-$4,160Position Summary:The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for non tenure-track adjunct position in Japanese Studies, to begin January 5, 2026The duties in this role include:Plan and teach content and material according to the JPST *240 Japanese Culture and Society class description and class number of credits (4 credits).Formally evaluate students at least 4 times per semester.Provide timely feedback to and interact with students to promote the acquisition of class content.Communicate and report to WLC Chairperson and to NCC Registrar’s Office as needed.Basic Qualifications:Basic qualifications are required at the time of application.The successful candidate will have completed a Masters Degree or above in the field related to the class contentThe qualified individual should have at least:A Masters degree in the field related to the class contentPedagogical experience teaching the class content or related topicsPedagogical experience and/or training in the modality of the course (i.e. in-person/hybrid/online)Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, as well as ongoing scholarship.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred qualifications are not required qualifications for the position.Experience with teaching Japanese or Japanese Studies topics that add to the current departmental offerings;Demonstrated excellence in both teaching, training in pedagogical methods, and research.About NCC:Founded in 1861, North Central College is a selective, comprehensive liberal arts institution of about 3000 students, located 28 miles west of Chicago in Naperville.
