Description / Position OverviewAbout the Job: Performs a wide variety of secretarial complex clerical and clerical accounting duties in support of the Internal Affairs (IA) Unit in the Professional Standards Division.Job Posting Statement: This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year and any furloughs subsequently approved.Come explore the possibilities a career with the City of Colorado Springs can offer!As an Administrative Assistant II you will:Transcribe verbatim interviews letters and correspondence for the unit.Type correspondence to CSPD personnel and complainants.Maintain electronic files for IA complaints and investigations.Monitor main IA email inbox and phone; route emails and calls to appropriate personnel or agency.Coordinates all records requests under the CCJRA and CORA statutes and for subpoenas for IA.Manages and tracks transcriptions for IA and coordinates with 3rd party vendor. Prepares documents and schedules for review committees and tracks information for certain complaint investigations.Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Basic computer experience with experience in Microsoft Word Outlook and ExcelProficiency in data entry.Ability to work independently.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Knowledge of modern office procedures methods and equipment including computers and supporting softwareAbility to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writingAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsMinimum QualificationsEquivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)..Three years of full time professional experience in a related field.One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.Preferred QualificationsCustomer service experience in a public sector or public safety environment.Additional InformationFor questions specifically for this position contact or .Pre-employment Requirements: The job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a polygraph examination extensive background check and other pre-employment assessments.Applicants that have used marijuana or CBD products within 3 months from the date of their application submissionwill not be eligible for hire.
