Heres What You NeedEducationAssociates Degree Nursing required AndBachelors Degree Nursing preferredExperience5 years experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse committee chair preceptor) requiredLicenses and CertificationsRN- Registered Nurse upon hire required AndACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required AndBCLS- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required AndCPI- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required AndNRP- Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program upon hired requiredWhat You Will DoOPERATIONS/LEADERSHIPRepresents facility administration after business hours and on weekendsPromotes shared decision making through collaborative/consultative relationships with nursing administration department leadership general nursing staff and other department staffRounds throughout the facility on a frequent (at least 2 times/12 hours shift) and consistent basisPATIENT THROUGHPUT/BED MANAGEMENTFacilitates appropriate utilization of beds assuring that patient needs diagnosis and acuity are appropriately matched to the unit scope of service level of care and assigned nursing competency/skillUtilizes bed tracking systems and other methods to meet timely assignment of beds and minimal delays where applicableCUSTOMER SUPPORT/PATIENT EXPERIENCEResponds to patient visitor and physician concernsMediates conflicts between care giversFacilitates conflict resolution amongst family members of patients as necessaryHUMAN RESOURCES/STAFF DEVELOPMENTSupports units with staffing variances and coverage based on unit/acuity staffing planInforms unit management of staffing or human resource concernsRounds on unit or departments consistentlyPROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTABILITYContinues professional education and growth through formal and informal meansSeeks learning opportunities for professional growth and role enhancementContinues to develop nursing knowledge and skills as well as management and leadership knowledge and skillsQUALITY IMPROVEMENTAssists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processesIncorporates evidence-based practice and research to monitor and continuously impact outcomesProvides evidence of participation in process improvement activitiesAdditional perks of being a Texas Health Administrative Supervisor:Youll enjoy top-notch benefits including 401(k) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and more.At Texas Health our people make this a great place to work every day.
