About This Role

We are looking for a strong, experienced, and hands-on Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical operations and help lead our nursing team. You will work side by side with the Director of Nursing to ensure consistent care standards, regulatory compliance, and staff development across all shifts. What You'll Do

  • Support the DON in overseeing daily nursing operations across all shifts

  • Conduct clinical rounds and ensure consistent care standards facility-wide

  • Assist with nursing staff recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and competency evaluations

  • Supervise and mentor RNs, LPNs, QMAs, and CNAs on assigned shifts

  • Monitor and investigate incidents, falls, and adverse events and implement corrective action

  • Assist with MDS completion, care planning, and PDPM accuracy in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator

  • Support infection prevention and control program activities

  • Lead or assist with staff in-service education and skills training

  • Assist in preparation for state surveys and respond to clinical findings

  • Serve as DON in the absence of the Director of Nursing

  • Participate in QAPI, department head meetings, and clinical leadership initiatives

  • Ensure nursing documentation is accurate, complete, and timely

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted nuring license in the state of practice required

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience — long-term care or SNF experience strongly preferred

  • Prior charge nurse or nursing leadership experience required

  • Working knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, and clinical quality metrics

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and staff development skills

  • Current BLS/CPR certification required

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to respond to after-hours and on-call needs as required
