JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Smile House and J B L New York City are modern, multispecialty dental practices rooted in the belief that oral health is inseparable from whole-body health. Our teams collaborate across disciplines—restorative, aesthetic, airway, sleep, periodontal, orthodontic, and biologic dentistry—to deliver personalized, thoughtful, and elevated care.

Our offices are designed for excellence: beautiful spaces, cutting-edge technology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a culture of learning, leadership, and service. We are educators, innovators, and clinicians who care deeply about patients and each other.

  • Is eager to grow within a high-level, interdisciplinary clinical environment

This is not a traditional dental assistant role. It is a clinically immersive, elevated position designed for someone with deep dental knowledge who wants to sharpen skills, learn U.S. systems and protocols, and contribute meaningfully to complex patient care.

Role Overview

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Support & Chairside Excellence

  • Prepare operatories, instruments, materials, and technology to exacting standards
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Work closely with restorative, aesthetic, surgical, airway, and orthodontic teams
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning conversations
  • Support comprehensive care models that integrate function, structure, aesthetics, and biology

  • Contribute to a calm, confident, and elevated patient experience
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients
  • Help patients feel seen, safe, and supported throughout their visits
Clinical Systems & Growth
  • Learn and adhere to U.S. clinical protocols, compliance standards, and documentation
  • Engage in ongoing training, mentorship, and clinical education
  • Contribute ideas, insights, and global perspective to our evolving practice model

Who You Are
  • An advanced expanded function dental assistant (Nice to have: you are an internationally trained dentist (DDS, DMD, or equivalent from outside the U.S.))
  • Currently residing in the New York area
  • Not licensed in New York, but legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 3 years with our team
  • Clinically sharp, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • Humble, curious, and eager to learn
  • Team-first mindset with high emotional intelligence
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-expectation clinical environment
  • Fluent or highly proficient in English (additional languages a plus)

Why Join Us
  • Work in beautiful, modern offices with state-of-the-art technology
  • Be part of a true multispecialty team under one roof
  • Learn directly from experienced clinicians and thought leaders
  • Gain deep exposure to advanced dentistry, airway and sleep medicine, and comprehensive care
  • Join a culture built on respect, education, collaboration, and excellence
  • Build meaningful professional relationships during your time in New York

  • Effective communication and a positive, high energy mindset
  • Collaboration and a just do it attitude
  • Excellence and humility and able to bring the joy to the workplace
  • Growth—clinically, professionally, and personally
