Job Title:Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Ambulatory Neuro-OncologyDepartment:James | Ambulatory Nurse Practioner and Physician AssistantScope of PositionThe Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure.Position SummaryThe APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriateMinimum QualificationsCurrent certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of NursingMaster of Science Degree in NursingORMasters Prepared; Graduate of a PA-C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).Eligibility for State of Ohio licensure as a PA-C0 years of relevant experience required.1 year of ambulatory APP and oncology experience preferred.Career RoadmapFUNCTION: Advanced PracticeSUBFUNCTION: Advanced Practice ProviderCAREER BAND: Individual Contributor - ClinicalCAREER LEVEL: C3Additional Information:The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with brain tumors. In collaboration with the neuro-oncologist, the APP will manage patients throughout their treatment journey, including those on active therapy. Responsibilities include:Delivering symptom management and supportive careEngaging in critical goals-of-care discussions with patients and familiesCoordinating care across specialties to ensure seamless treatmentPromoting evidence-based practices and patient-centered careThis role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a complex care environment.Location:Brain and Spine Hospital (0372)Position Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Shift:First ShiftFinal candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
