Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We are currently in need of Advanced Shipfitters to join our team in Newport News, VA.**$120 per diem available for qualified candidates**Skills:Ability to comprehend blueprints, sketches, weld symbols, material types, and templates.Fabricate, align, and assemble structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.Tack weld clips and brackets into place prior to permanent welding.Solid understanding of shipbuilding and/or manufacturing processesMust be able to demonstrate the ability to accurately perform layout, cutting with a torch, metric measuring, and structurally fitting processes.Erect, set, and makeup complex-shaped shell plates, decks, bulkheads, longitudinals, and trunks.Install and replace hull inserts and penetrations and miscellaneous complex foundations.Pass a skills test using the SMAW process with MIL-10718-M (A-5A) filler metal of MIL-E-22200/1 in both vertical up and overhead positions. One hour of practice, one hour vertical test, and one hour overhead test.Job Requirements:5 years of 1st class marine shipfitting experience.Experience performing multi-pass tack welding.Ability to use oxygen/propane burning and heating torches.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to read blueprints.Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on your own.Pass a 10-Panel drug screen and background check.CTS offers a comprehensive benefit packet to eligible employees.
