Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFirst Article InspectorAerospace & Defense ManufacturingLocation: 3617 E La Salle St, Phoenix, AZ 85040 (40th St and Southern)Shift: Full time, day shiftDue to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.First Article Inspector:Responsibilities:Conducts first article inspection on set up parts off machinesRecord and document dimensional findingsWorks with department leads/set up machinist evaluating inspection dataPeriodical in-process inspectionRun proven CMM programsBasic Qualifications:3 years minimum experience in aerospace inspection manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of ASME Y14.5 and GDT requiredExperience with micrometers, optical comparator, height gages, profilometerCMM experience (PCDMIS, QC5000, Brown and Sharp Reflex)Inspector is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of appropriate workmanship standards and be able to use sampling plans to establish product acceptance in line with the customers specificationsPreferred Skills:Ability to conduct receiving inspections using standard mechanical, and electrical instruments, functional gauges, test fixtures and utilizing CMMs with existing Part ProgramsBasic math aptitudeOrganizational skillsAbility to read engineering drawingsInterpret technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning, and inspection proceduresAbility to interpret SPC plans and results, analyze SPC data for Manufacturing Improvements, understand and perform Gage R&R studiesReport product status accurately, record turn-backs for resolution, analyze product history for trends and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated using Computer softwarePrepare and use standard documentation for reporting and detailed inspection plans for the purpose of recording measurement results on Computer softwarePerform process / product audits, over-checks for product validation, and review product history for trends and analysisPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 20 poundsAbility to sit or stand up to 8 hours per dayTeam oriented company with top paying wages and benefits in the valley in regards to the Aerospace Industry.
