Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBenefits:Free food & snacksParental leave We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Program Assistant to Providing students with a safe, caring and educational environment for children in which to complete their homework and receive help on homework; and, to provide enrichment opportunities for students in the form of creative projects, games, etc.Their role primarily involves assisting in the planning and implementation of activities that take place in the after-school program.Responsibilities include supervising and guiding children, assisting with homework, planning and implementing educational activities, and communicating effectively with parents and school staff.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensures the safety and well-being of students after school hoursSupports delivery of the Schools academic programs when assisting with homeworkControls student behavior in a fair and consistent manner.Maintains log of students enrolled in the programCommunicates effectively with the After-School Program Director and Operations Manager as neededAssist in planning and implementing daily after-school program activitiesSupervise and engage children in age-appropriate activitiesMaintain a safe and positive environment for the childrenHelp with homework and tutoring as neededdistribute snacks or mealsEnsure the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilityAssist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, daily attendance, and timesheetAdhere to all program policies and procedures while upholding the code of conductengage with children through various activities like helping with homework, implementing arts and crafts projects, facilitating games and physical activities, and promoting positive social interactions.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the planning and implementation of daily programs and activitiesSupervise children and ensure their safety and wellbeingHelp children with homework and school assignmentsDevelop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to boost childrens developmentCommunicate effectively with parents about daily activities and behaviorsAssist with snack preparation and clean upMaintain a clean and safe environmentAdhere to all safety and health regulationsensuring the safety of the children, managing the childrens behavior, and providing proper guidance and supervision.actively engage with students during activities and to set up or clear up spaces for these activities.build relationships with students, encouraging their participation and fostering a positive learning environment.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience working with children in a school or after-school settingBasic knowledge of child development and educational activitiesFirst aid and CPR certifiedExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience and resilience with excellent problem-solving skillsAbility to pass background check and drug screening
