Job Title: AI Solutions Specialist Lead Engineer Location: Birmingham Alabama Experience: 12 Years Employment Type: Contract Interview Type: In-Person or Webcam Job Description We are seeking an experienced AI Solutions Specialist Lead Engineer to drive the design development and delivery of advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions. This role requires a hands-on technology leader who can architect scalable AI platforms collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide end-to-end implementation from concept to production. The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge leadership skills and practical execution experience building enterprise-grade AI applications. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of AI and ML solutions including model architecture data pipelines training testing deployment and optimization. Architect scalable cloud-based AI platforms using technologies such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements identify opportunities and translate needs into technical solutions. Evaluate new AI technologies frameworks and tools to enhance solution efficiency and performance. Oversee full lifecycle implementation including model governance MLOps performance tuning and monitoring. Provide technical leadership mentorship and guidance to engineering and data science teams. Collaborate with DevOps software engineering and data engineering teams to integrate AI into production systems. Develop solution documentation architectural diagrams and technical best practices. Drive proof-of-concept development pilot deployments and production rollouts. Ensure solutions comply with security privacy and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering Data Science or related field. 12 years of industry experience in AI/ML engineering software engineering or data science. Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models and AI solutions at enterprise scale. Strong hands-on expertise with Python SQL and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-learn Keras or Hugging Face. Deep experience with cloud-based AI services (AWS Sagemaker Azure ML or Google Vertex AI). Strong understanding of MLOps CI/CD model versioning and data pipeline automation. Experience with data engineering ETL big data technologies and distributed computing (Spark Databricks Kafka etc.). Strong architectural and system design skills including microservices and API-based integration. Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex technical projects. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in NLP Generative AI LLM fine-tuning RAG transformers or conversational AI platforms. Experience with Docker Kubernetes and container-based deployment. Familiarity with vector databases and real-time inference systems. Previous consulting or lead engineering experience in client-facing environments.
