Job Description

Scope of Position: The Lead is responsible for several criteria and activities as well as being well informed with the most current TSA Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF) rules.  This individual must report to the Facility Security Coordinator (FSC) for all CCSF-related matters.  The Lead demonstrates leadership and ownership of operations and cargo screening activities by strictly following all regulatory job requirements. While part of the scope includes complete understanding with relation to the TSA regulations included are also the criteria for ensuring all processes of the AXP/GTWY operation are being executed correctly and that proper communication is taking place between the management team and the staff.Position Schedule:  Monday- Friday 17:00-01:30 (5PM- 1:30AM)Major Duties and Responsibilities:Administration: Ensure to adhere to all airline and over the road lock-outs;Be an expert in the screening procedures (Note: this means reading and becoming intimately familiar with the Amendment not merely reading this job description);Communicate with all relevant stake holders regarding any issues (AXP/GTWY) teamsEnsure to have the staff complete required training within the required timeframesSupervise any on-the-job trainingEscalate any relevant issue to the management teamTrain any new temp labor and or Expeditors employeeEnsure to maintain a safe working environment for the staffMaintain professional appearance of the facility.Manage Approve and Control OT for staff.  Ensure that is communicated to management.Ensure that all tools are being reviewed and actioned: HOTSHEET PUTAWAY INVENTORYComplete roll over to Supervisor on DutyComplete (own) and monitor teams trainingEnsure reviews are completed timelyAccess Control:Monitor that all visitors or employees without Security Threat Assessments are escorted at all times;Challenge and remove anyone entering the DSA without properly following proceduresTrain and verify that everyone in the DSA knows and follows the challenge procedures when requiredActively monitors security of doors and usage of dock restraint systemAXP/GTWY Warehouse: Actively monitor the warehouse HotSheetCommunication with onsite dispatcher to ensure effective loading of screened/unscreened cargoCommunication with teams via email (AXP/GTWY teams)Working closely with the AXP/GTWY office to ensure efficient readying of consols take placeManaging the staff to avoid unwarranted OTOversight to the security box functionsEnsure all warehouse procedures are being followed by staffActively have one-on-ones with the staffEnsure that training is being completed by the staffMonitor supply levelsEnsure Safety procedures are being followedSafety: Ensure all employees follow safety procedures with operating forkliftComplete safety incident reports (as needed)Ensure all employees are wearing uniforms and protective footwearQualifications : Minimum Qualifications:High School Degree or equivalent requiredSuccessful candidates must pass a background checkMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesMust not require future sponsorship for employment visaFluent in English both written and verbalMust have the ability to work overtime in support of the departments needsMust be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne CAComfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skillsComfortable working in a warehouse environment.Desired Qualifications: Associates or Undergraduate Degree PreferredGood computer skills (Word Excel and familiarity with PowerPoint)Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organizedDemonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and actionStrong organizational skillsAnalytical with a strong attention to detailEffective interpersonal skills including proven ability to listen comprehend effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive resultsAbility to work independently and in a collaborative team environmentWilling to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team membersExcellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skillsHas a demonstrated strong work ethic and reliabilityAbility to lock down and secure the facility as needed.Reporting StructureSupervisor and ManagerAdditional Information : Expeditors offers excellent benefits:Paid VacationHolidays (10)Flexible Days (2)Paid Sick Time (accrual rate of 1 hour of sick time per 30 hours paid)401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Medical Prescription Drug Dental & Vision CoverageHealth Savings Account (HSA)Life and Disability InsurancePaid Parental Leave (additional eligibility criteria)Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DC FSA)Commuter BenefitEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Training and Personnel Development ProgramEducational Assistance and ReimbursementAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Hourly rate range: $24.50-30/ hourRemote Work : NoEmployment Type : Full-time Key Skills Restaurant Experience,Sales Experience,Basic Math,Warehouse Experience,Conflict Management,Contractor Management,Warehouse Management System,Guest Services,Employment & Labor Law,Leadership Experience,Medicare,Supervising Experience Experience: years Vacancy: 1
