Repairs and rebuilds all aircraft systems to include aircraft structure system, engine/gearbox/rotorsystem, all avionic systems. Blades and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surfacecontrols, and plumbing and hydraulic units, ensuring hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipmentsuch as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills are being used properly, wire,canon plugs, system avionic boxes, rewire, cockpit avionics, paint/corrosion on all aircraft systems. 2. Leadership: Able to lead, direct, assign task, handle employee personal issues, communicate with USNavy, and M1 Management effectively and a contusions daily basis. Lead a work center and multipleshifts. Ensure all areas of the work center is in compliance with all Publications, Policies, GOP, LOI.Leadership ability to assign and monitor; Ensure safety procedures are followed for the following:adjustment, repairs, or replace any aircraft system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft,including flushing gearbox, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes andcorrosion prevention of aircraft.3. Reads and interprets manufacturers and maintenance manuals, OPNAV 4790, service bulletins,technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairingor replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Also local GOP,LOI, PQS, Safety Orders4. Performs 175-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections,examines engines for cracked blades and oil leaks, inspects turbine engines and components for cracks,corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missingsegments. Inspects engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, orbreaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment. Replace or repair worn or damagedcomponents, such as generators, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, andengine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testingequipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or crane, disassembling and inspecting parts forwear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts andreassembles and installs engine in aircraft.5. Job duties require that this Mechanic 1 adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical wiring system and aircraftaccessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, and miscellaneous Page 2of 4 duties to include servicing aircraft, including flushing gearbox, cleaning screens and filters, greasingmoving parts, checking brakes and corrosion prevention of aircraft.6. Performs jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the workperformed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily; may service engines and airframecomponents at line station making repairs, short of overhaul; required to keep aircraft in safe operatingcondition.7. Repairs and modifies structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies; and mayspecialize in engine repair.8. Coordinate and participate in the directing/marshalling or towing of aircraft, entries into the maintenancerecords description of all work performed including safety of flight items and verifies the work wasperformed satisfactorily, may service/inspect/remove/install engine, airframe, electrical, ordnancecomponents in hanger or flight line, required to keep aircraft in safe and mission ready operatingcondition. Must be able to repair and preform modification of all aircraft system and assemblies. This isnot an all-inclusive list 9. Shall be required to specialize in one or more areas engine/airframes/electrical/armament repair.Mechanic 1 shall be responsible for other areas of the aircraft that he or she may be required to fulfillother obligations for aircraft maintenance or administration duties. This is not an all-inclusive list10. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar to OOMA systems ensuringcompliance with 4790 and safety standards.11. Approve time cards for other employees.Additional duties include:* Housekeeping of all areas of work including shop; participate in FOD program.* Certifications: CDI or CDQAR (Collateral Duty Inspector, Collateral Duty Quality AssuranceRepresentative)* Comply with all work site safety requirements.* Handling and disposing of Hazmat.* May need to participate and qualify in Aviation gas free program.* Obtain all support equipment licenses for job description.* Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum Requirements:* High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five (5) years actual and recent O level H-60S/R/F/H AircraftMaintenance experience or equivalent rotary aircraft experience. Minimum of five (3) years actual H60CDI/CDQAR/QAR experience. Two (2) years must be performed at a management level is required.* Must be able to obtain and maintain all required qualifications; In accordance with instructions asoutlined in CNAFINST 4790 (serie's) and Local work site local instructions. Within the time frame set bylocal work site instructions. Page 3of 4 * Will be required to complete minimum of one or multiple PQS's for classification's qualification(PQS)Personal qualification standards as needed; for the following, AM,AD,AE,AT,AO,Plane Captain, 310CDI/CDQAR. PQS and all requirements SHALL be completed within the allotted time as per work siteinstructions.* All Work Site Positions: Job descriptions and responsibilities shall change with changes to US NavyMission and needs. * Must be able to work all shifts. Full time employment; but 40 hour is not guaranteed per-week. Workinghours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on flight schedule and oroverall tasking.* Manage other mechanics and insure work load is completed on time.* Ability to read and write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions is required. An in-depth knowledge of the applicable aircraft is required. A thorough working knowledge of applicabletechnical publication is required.* Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse printer and be proficient using computer programs Word,Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, NALCOMIS/OOMA.* Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability are required.* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) or Rapid Gate Pass.* Prior experience with U.S. Naval repair maintenance operations on military aircraft highly preferred.* Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks ismandatory.* Must have a valid Driver's License.* Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check* Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Additional Requirements:* Ability to work with foreign cultures and languages.* Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.* Must be able to handle and dispose of hazardous materials as required.* Must possess a valid state driver's license.Working Conditions:* Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.* Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English languagerequired. * Constant use of eye sight abilities while reviewing documents, walking around work areas andconstant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication.* Constant mental alertness around all work areas, must possess planning/organizing skills, andmust be able to work under deadlines. * Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands.
