Our program trains four A&I fellows each year, 2 in each year of training. We take fellows from both pediatric and internal medicine backgrounds who have chosen A&I for their future career. Ninety-six A&I fellows have graduated from our program since 1985. There is an existing consortium of these A&I graduates who meet at the major A&I yearly conferences and also attend as voluntary consultants with the academic A&I attendings in the 2nd year A&I fellows' clinics. In these clinics, A&I fellows are supported by both full-time and former graduate volunteer physicians in preparation to become "A&I physicians of record" upon graduation.
