DESCRIPTIONMendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a Allied Health Programs Support Technician to work in our Allied Health/Nursing Department.This is a full-time Classified position 40 hours per week 12 months a year.We are seeking an equity-minded person who is committed to supporting our diverse student population and the District Mission. Responsibilities involve frequent and responsible contact with faculty staff students and the public. Vacation leave increases with the length of service. There are twenty (20) paid holidays annually.Retirement: This position is eligible for CalPERS Retirement.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIESThe successful candidate will support student and institutional success by executing the following duties:Coordinates and performs specialized tasks which support the allied health programs; provides information and assistance regarding program policies procedures rules and regulations; resolves questions and issues; assists students staff and others with the completion of forms and documents and other compliance issues as needed.Collaborates with Allied Health Program Directors to process program applications. Collects and/or accesses transcripts for allied health program applicants during application periods; evaluates allied health program applicant transcripts for program prerequisite courses and other application criteria; evaluates applications for all additional pre-entrance requirements.Assists Allied Health Program Directors with verifying new student health information (interprets lab values health requirements and expiration dates); Coordinating agency specific documentation necessary for student placement into clinical agencies. Maintaining compliance with each facilities immunization insurance health information and other requirements throughout the academic year. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with clinical agency management and staff.Reviews and tracks student files for completeness and compliance with state board requirements for Nursing PTA and LVN programs. Collaborates with Allied Health Program Directors to resolve discrepancies and report results.Assists with preparation and submission of detailed reports to the Chancellors Office Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) and other accrediting or licensing agencies as required; supports tracking and maintaining statistical information as needed for required reports.Supports the coordination of evaluations for each applicable course lab and clinical regarding the institutional faculty evaluation process and state board reporting; sends out evaluation materials to applicable stakeholders and follows up for timely receiptProcesses Continuing Education Units for state board agencies and continuing education units for student preceptors.Plans schedules and provides office support for the allied health programs; recommends new and revised office procedures as appropriate; coordinates activities/events provides direct support to the Assistant Dean of Health Education/Nursing Director and Allied Health Program Directors.Provides budget recordkeeping and monitors expenditures for the Nursing Foundation fund (Friendsof Mendocino College Nursing Program). Coordinates reporting donations and transfers with the college foundation. Monitors and completes purchase orders for student club account.Assists in the administration of the office; responds to technical questions from college administrators faculty and staff; maintains positive staff and public relations trains and provides work direction and guidance to student assistants; orients new faculty to department and acts as general resource for nursing personnel.Collaborates with fellow instructional staff and management to support District wide coordination efforts in various disciplines and processes.Assists users and staff with technology needs including set up operation and maintenance of equipment; oversees the use of the nursing computer lab.Assists in student recruitment efforts by participating in outreach tours to high schools and other groups invited to visit campus programs; attends and participates in a variety of meetings workshops webinars and conferences related to the department.Assists allied health program director with updating MOAs with programs healthcare partners and communicating with clinical agencies to ensure initiation and maintenance of clinical affiliation contracts required for student participation.Coordinates advisory meetings Friends of Mendocino College Nursing Foundation meetings allied health job fairs and staff meetings; maintains minutes of these meetings.Coordinates travel arrangements including completing request forms and claims for full and parttime allied health program faculty.Assists with budget development and maintains internal departmental budget; provides budget recordkeeping and monitors expenditures; prepares budget transfers and fiscal reporting to grantors purchase orders/related reports.Prepares reviews maintains and distributes a variety of reports forms applications lists instructional materials requisitions schedules fliers calendars manuals handbooks announcements program statistics handouts and other documents; assures that document language and information is accurate and program policies and procedures are met.Constructs updates and maintains portal page for current allied health program students; maintains program information on the Districts website.Assists with purchasing; maintains inventory supplies and equipment.Maintains records and files; establishes and maintains filing systems; orders receives and maintains an inventory of office supplies and other materials; opens and distributes mail.Operates a variety of office equipment including a desktop computer and related software calculator printer copier and others as applicable.Trains and provides work directions to others as assigned; attends meetings and workshops as assigned; maintains minutes from allied health department faculty meetings; performs related duties for department and others as assigned.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STANDARDS:The following physical and mental standards are identified as necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
