Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTitle: Automation DeveloperReports to: Director of Application DevelopmentSupervises: NoneStatus: ExemptObjectiveThe Automation Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency and support key business processes across the Credit Union. This role focuses on developing secure, reliable workflows and tools that enhance operations and drive continuous improvement. Through these efforts, the Automation Developer helps KEMBA fulfill its mission of making a positive difference in each Member’s financial life.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops, tests, debugs, deploys and maintains job automation processes and automated scripts and workflows that meet the service and security standards of the credit unionMonitors and maintains deployed robotic process automation (RPA) bots and automated scripts and workflows; troubleshoot issues and implement improvements for continuous efficiency gainsImplements and maintains logging and other audit/performance tracking mechanisms.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze business needs and strategic direction for automation opportunitiesResolves complex automation problems on any in-house or purchased software application across multiple hardware platforms and programming languagesBalances multiple jobs, priorities, and deadlinesDocuments operational processes and the design of automation systems, including automation designs, configurations, and user guidesFollows all security policies and procedures and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to the manager immediatelyDevelops an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational proceduresPerforms all duties in a manner that is fully compliant with applicable industry regulations as well as KEMBA policy and proceduresOn a self-directed basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certification on established educational programsRelates to others beyond giving and receiving instructions:Works well with partners and peersPerforms work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with othersResponds appropriately to feedbackPerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)3+ years of experience in process automation or software development, including hands-on expertise building RPA solutions with UiPathProficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., C#, Python, VB.NET, Javascript) and familiarity with software development best practicesStrong understanding of business process workflows and ability to translate business requirements into automated solutionsStrong understanding of data security and privacy laws and best practicesKnowledge of cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelinesAbility to think orderly, logically, and analytically.Strong problem-solving skillsEffective communication skillsCourtesy, tact, and diplomacyDesired QualificationsUiPath certification (e.g., UiPath Advanced RPA Developer) or equivalent training in RPAExperience with integrating and securing automated workflows with other systems (APIs, databases)Previous credit union or financial institution experience including a strong understanding of financial regulations is desirableKnowledge of Git or other version control systemsProject management knowledge and/or experience participating in enterprise-level projectsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands listed below represent those necessary to perform the essential functions of this role.
