POSITION SUMMARY:The Painter B position has the responsibility to work safely maintain a positive attitude be respectful to all and focus efforts and abilities towards building a quality product in the time allocated. This position is responsible for assisting in powder coating boats and boat parts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Prepares parts for coating.Follows principles and practices of powder coating.Operates all coating equipment including guns hoppers and booth collection systems.Observes machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects.Determines paint flow viscosity and coating quality.Ensure all components are produced/coated efficiently and are consistent with company established goals.Loads and unloads parts or product onto fixtures.Maintains maintenance and cleaning of equipment.ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:Ability to use hand toolsAbility to work in team setting or independentlyAbility to understand processes and instructionsAbility to wear PPEAbility to work under boatAbility to read tape measurementsAbility to read and follow standard operations processesAbility to cross trainTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:N/APHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Light lifting under 20 lbs.Light carrying under 20 lbs.Moderate lifting 21-59 lbs.Moderate carrying 21 59 lbs.Straight pullingPushingRepeated bendingReaching over shouldersUse of fingersWalkingStandingKneelingRepeated stretchingSpecific visual requirementsAbility to distinguish basic colorsAbility to distinguish shades of colorHearing (aid permitted)WORK ENVIRONMENT:Outside and insideExtreme heatExtreme humidityExtreme noise intermittentDustFumes smoke or gassesSolvents (degreasing agents)Slippery or uneven walking surfacesINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision using well-defined policies and procedures.
