DescriptionPosition Summary:This position requires a personable guest-focused AM Server who greets guests takes orders and delivers food and beverages to guests in a timely manner while upholding the hotels standards of cleanliness and hospitality. The AM Server is responsible for providing prompt courteous and efficient breakfast service to hotel guests and visitors. This role ensures guests have a positive dining experience at the start of their day by delivering high-quality service.As a professional Server you should have a neat appearance and engaging friendly personality. You should be efficient observant knowledgeable and personable.Type: Hourly Part-TimePay rate: $17.25/hr tipsDuties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Greet guests warmly upon arrival escorts to table and guide them through the breakfast offerings and menu.Work closely with BOH team and other hotel staff to ensure smooth service.Working knowledge of current and seasonal beverage and food menus.Offer menu recommendations upon request.Up-sell additional products when appropriate.Take guest food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff.Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner ensuring all items meet presentation and quality standards.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area including tables chairs and service stations.Follow opening checklists to set up the restaurant for morning service including prepping tables coffee stations and condiments.Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of orders.Handle guest inquiries complaints or special requests professionally and promptly.Process guest checks accurately handling cash and credit transactions through the POS system.Ensure all opening and closing side work is completed each shift.Uphold all standards for cleanliness service and guest satisfaction.Adhere to all hotel policies health regulations and safety standards.Greet each guest with a good attitude and a smile.Qualifications:Possess excellent communication skills.Understands and follows written directions.Must be able to provide legible communication.Works cooperatively in a team environment.Must be comfortable learning new skills.Can perform calmly under pressure.Uses critical thinking reasoning skills to solve problems quickly.Manages time effectively.Skills and Attitudes:Must be motivated hard-working and passionate and have the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.Must have the ability to:Able to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail ability to multi-task.Must be skilled in time management.Must exhibit an excellent service attitude and be willing to go out of their way to accommodate the guests and exceed their expectations.Must show enthusiasm for the job and for the restaurant.Must be considerate patient and willing to help fellow employees.Must have a good self-image and be able to command the respect of the employees.Must be able to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times.Must handle guest complaints according to restaurant policies and procedures.Possess the highest work ethics personal morals and honesty beyond reproach.Professional articulate friendly and punctual.Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service.Part-time flexible hours are required (able to workdays nights weekends holidays).Proficient in computer skills including POS systems and iPad applications.Professional appearance appropriate for a premier restaurant.Ability to work in a stressful fast-paced environmentMust be able to work holidays nights and weekendEducation:Must have one or more of the following:Minimum of 1-2years serving experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant.Equivalent combination of education and experience.Certificates Licenses and Registrations: San Diego County Food Handlers Card (must be turned in within 30 days of employment). Anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class.
