The AnesthesiaClinical Assistant provides support and receives directives from the licensed Anesthesia provider in clinicalsettings. The Anesthesia Clinical assistant will provide support for routine cases involving the AnesthesiaDepartment by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and anesthesiadelivery systems before and during anesthesia. The Anesthesia Clinical assistant lends clinical supportduring preoperative and interoperative procedures. Performs under extreme pressure of life threatening emergencies. Is calm and competentand makes recommendations to improve supportAssist anesthesia professional staff as required:Set ups for OR cases which include preparation of laryngoscope and intubation equipmentPreparation and labeling of blank syringesIV bag and tubing set-up and set up of IV warming devices.Assist during procedures such as peripheral nerve block insertion of Invasive lines as directed.Knowledge of the operation of specialized equipment such as humidification units Fiberoptic endoscopicequipment and rapid infusion devices.Assist in preparation positioning and draping of the patient for invasive monitoring/ procedure. Aids inpreparation of patients for major invasive monitoring and/ or difficult cases in the Line room / OR suite asdirected by Anesthesia provider.
