The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with 1-2 weekday calls from the hotel and one weekend hotel call per month. OB coverage is 24/7. The case mix includes general B&B anesthesia with a strong focus on regional and OB, including frequent epidurals, spinals, and blocks such as interscalene and femoral; scheduled Csections may require a spinal. The facility runs 5-6 ORs with a team of 4 MDs and 3 CRNAs. Typical community hospital cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Endoscopy, GI, and required OB epidurals, with no major cardiac, no major trauma, and limited pediatrics.
