Job DescriptionBe a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial as a Anesthesia Technician in the Peri-Op/Procedural (ADD) Anesthesiology department. Here you will assist in providing/supporting quality patient care for the surgical patients. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.Under the direction of the Director of Anesthesia the Manager of Surgical Services (ADD) the Anesthesia Tech is responsible and accountable for turning over the anesthesai equipment in the operating rooms cleaning of anesthesia machines and accessories; cleaning and restocking of anesthesia supply carts; maintaining anesthesia equipment and supply inventories. Knows follows and actively supports the philosophy mission and Vision of Ingalls Hospital. Adheres to all hospital policies procedures and standards of care. Observes and adheres to all corporate compliance requirements and communicates issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan.Essential Job FunctionsParticipates in the preparation of the OR suite for admission of patientsSets up anesthesia equipment/supplies prior to the patient admission to the OR Suite replaces circuit stock supplies organize top of cart etc.Assists with attaching patient to required non-invasive monitors SpO2 B/P EKG etc.Assists anesthesiologist with the insertion of invasive lines arterial CVPAssists with positioning patients for epidurals and blocksSet up warming and humidifier systems for anesthesia machines as requestedTransport patients to and from the OR PACU as neededAssure proper identification of patients.Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED equivalentBLS/CPR certification - American Heart Association accreditedGraduation from an accredited school of Anesthesia Technology preferredAnesthesia Techniciancertification required within 6 months of employmentPreferred QualificationsMinimum one year experience as a Nursing Assistant in the OR/PACU is preferred.Position DetailsJob Type/FTE: Part-Time (0.6)Shift: Days (8-hour shifts)Unit/Department: Peri-Op/AnesthesiologyCBA Code: Non-UnionWhy Join UsFor nearly a century Ingalls Memorial has pioneered sophisticated clinical care and developed the areas most convenient network of comprehensive outpatient centers all dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the community.
