Summary:The ASPCA is seeking individuals who are excited about being part of a committed team working to support animals transported through our Overland Park Waystation on their way to destination partners. Youll be a member of a high-performing team providing care and transport for over 40000 at-risk canines and felines per year and will work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders to further the ASPCAs ultimate desired outcome that all animals live good lives.Responsibilities:This is a temporary contingent position and the person hired will be employed through a third-party staffing agency.Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Cleaning and sanitizing animal housing in accordance with protocol provided by ASPCA veterinarian teamEnsure animals are secured in a clean environment and provided with water and age size and species appropriate foodPrepare facility prior to transport and prepare cage chartsMaintain facility professional appearance and cleanliness for the sake of safety of both animals and humansPrompt communication of animal medical needs immediately once an issue has been identifiedBe punctual and reliablePrompt communication maintenance needs to the appropriate ASPCA staff contactBe careful and gentle with animals in loading and unloadingMust be comfortable working with dogs of all sizes cats and kittensProvide excellent customer service with shelter staff veterinarian partners volunteers and community members at all locationsEnsure the safekeeping of all paperwork provided for animals being transportedHelp manage inventory and stock supplies in ASPCA Overland Park WaystationAssist with loading and unloading of all supplies into vehicleMaintain communication with supervisor at all times regarding set up and cleaning of facilityAct as a responsible and compassionate representative of the ASPCA at all timesWilling to participate in additional trainingsEducation and Experience: High school diploma or GED requiredTwo years animal care or veterinary assistant preferredAdditional Information: This position is part-time and requires a flexible schedule which may include early morning late evenings and/or weekendsThis position may require use of a personal vehicleThis position is contracted through an employment agency.
