Job Description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.As a System Development Engineer you will be responsible for integration simulation and test of state-of-the-art space borne phased array systems. You will work internally and cross-functionally with a multi-disciplinary team to improve test speed and data collection perform root cause analysis and correlate test data with end-to-end system level simulations. Key job responsibilities Measure validate and perform root cause analysis on phased array systems and sub-systems Interface with standard RF equipment to enable automation and efficient data collection Create and/or modify new software features to enable testing of standard phased array system metrics such as EIRP EVM and G/T Act as a liaison with the Leo software team to drive new product requirements based on RF system test needs Perform end-to-end modeling simulation and analysis of digital phased array systems Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience- 3 years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience- Experience with RF lab equipment including VNA power meters spectrum analyzers vector signal generators- Experience with Hardware/Software system bring up and debugging- BS in Electrical Engineering with relevant coursework in digital communication theory digital signal processing RF/Microwave Engineering Antennas and Electromagnetic theory- MS in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of professional experience or PhD with 5 years of professional experience- Experience in RF system design line-up analysis digital modulation radio architecture- Experience with simulation tools such as SystemVue ADS or LabView- Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills- Highly accurate and detail-orientedAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status disability or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
