Job Description
Position Criteria:Valid State of Iowa teaching license required.Instructional Strategist II (ID) endorsement or Instructional Strategist II (BD/LD) acceptable requiredPrevious classroom teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.Understands function of behavior and ability to implement behavior intervention plans.Successful secondary special education teaching experience.Applicants with coaching or sponsorship experience encouraged to apply.PerformanceCriteria:Create and maintain healthy relationships with students.Experience writing and implementing Individual Education Plans and corresponding Behavior Intervention Plans.Demonstrate an understanding of the continuum of skills needed in community and independent living.Demonstrate flexibility high levels of motivation and enthusiasm when working with high school learners.Demonstrate an understanding of the elements of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and by able to apply that understanding to a team situation.Understand and apply in professional practice the Waukee Framework for Meeting the Needs of All Students highlighted by a commitment to: differentiating instruction for learners meeting the needs of diverse learners including all special populations.Understand and experience in using multiple teaching methods: co-teaching collaborating whole/small group and individualized instruction.Commit to ongoing professional growth and development as described in the Iowa Professional Development Standards and support of the Iowa Teaching Standards as the foundation from which to build that ongoing growth plan.Articulate oral and written communications.Serve and meet the expectations for being a WHS student advisor.Maintain accurate and timely grades and provide measurable and adequate feedback on student work.Participate in secondary-level professional development.Benefits:IPERS retirement account403B Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA) -$50 per month contribution for certified staffHealth and Dental Insurance paid for the employee (spouse/family coverage available at an additonal cost)Generous leave package including personal leave sick leave family sick leave and bereavement leaveWork shoe reimbursement up to $175 (dependent on work shoe required and position)Employee use of District Facilities if a part of the Wellness programWee Care - Childcare for 6mos - 5y for staffs childrenMileage is reimbursed for approved work-related travel in your personal vehicle completed during scheduled work hours Key Skills Client Server,FMCG Sales,Land Survey,Facilities,Labouring Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
