This customer-facing role involves developing technical solutions, performing sizing, selection, and testing, supporting sales with quotations and proposals, and managing customer projects. AEIs are instrumental in building new customer relationships and sustaining existing ones. Furthermore, you will provide product development recommendations and support the division's overall growth objectives.Essential FunctionsReview customer documentation and analyze applications to understand requirementsEngage in discussions with customers to gather insights about their processes and determine motion system needsRecommend appropriate motion components or systems based on customer requirementsCreate and maintain documentation for customer applicationsAssist with internal infrastructure projects aimed at improving applications engineering group efficiency and supporting continuous improvement initiativesDevelop technical content for white papers and application notes to support product knowledge and marketing effortsDeliver technical presentations to both current customers and potential prospectsPrepare detailed proposals, cost estimates and pricing for projectsPerform product and/or application testingRecommend standard products or custom-engineered solutions to solve customer applicationsDevelop deep expertise in an assigned industry application area and/or product areaCreate and maintain Application Data Sheets (ADS) to document all technical aspects of customer applicationsManage post-sales activities for custom jobs, ensuring project successAdditional DutiesSupport applications overflow from other divisions As assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCommunication Skills:Effective communicator, able to present complex technical information clearly to technical audiencesAble to read, analyze, and interpret scientific/technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Mathematical/Engineering Skills:Competent in advanced mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.Highly skilled in spreadsheet-based calculations and applications.Capable of working with equations of motion, basic mechanical concepts, and servo control theory.Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsOrganizational Skills:Strong sense of urgency and initiative with a focus on achieving accurate resultsExcellent organizational and time-management skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Other Skills/Abilities:Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, including engineers, production staff, and management.Minimum QualificationsBachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or universityA combination of education and professional experience may be considered in place of the degree requirementMust be authorized to work in the US currently and in the future without employer sponsorship.BenefitsAerotech has been advancing industries with our precision motion technology for more than 50 years.
