As a Software Developer III (B/OSS), you'll be responsible for the design and development of Billing and Provisioning applications and will perform full stack software development within the B/OSS delivery team. In this role, you will also provide technical support, as required, to supplement the operations and other support teams. As a Software Developer III, you will be expected to display a depth of knowledge in development, maintenance, and support of multiple core software systems within the development team product catalogue.What You'll Do:Design, develop, and maintain billing and provisioning software applications, including new programs, enhancements, and modificationsParticipate fully in Agile Scrum team development cycle, including design discussionsDevelop and maintain Java based applicationsParticipate in backlog issue management by ensuring stories are written correctly, acceptance criteria are fully captured, and issues follow the defined workflow to lead to successful commitments.Participate fully in end-to-end development from frontend systems to backend systemsReview peer code against team agreed code standards and industry best practicesProduce new builds/patches and deployments upon completion of development tasksAssist with the integration, documentation, and launch of new product offeringsParticipate in requirements gathering sessions to ensure proper product direction for business and customer needsIndependently recognize and propose solutions to issues and defects in a timely mannerSupport customer efforts through beta, integration testing, and production release cyclesMaintain appropriate documentation for external integrators and internal customersWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field5+ years of relevant experience in software development3+ years of Full-Stack Web Application DevelopmentFront-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)Back-end (PHP, Java)Database (Oracle, MySQL)API (RESTful Web Services)Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issuesPossess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutionsBe comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when neededHave confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with othersMust be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your workBe active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledgeThings That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:Knowledge or familiarity of Spring Boot, Spring, ActiveMQ, JBoss Business Rules (Drools), Redis, Docker, Agile Software Development, Atlassian Tool Suite, Zend, Laminas, React, CSS BootstrapExperience developing software tools and applications for a real-time operations environment.Other programming languages (C, C++, Perl, Python, Shell Scripting)We'll also need you to:Occassionally work extended hours during releases or troubleshooting of any critical customer impacting issuesProvide production support after hours for any critical issues that cannot wait till next working dayUS Citizenship requiredWork Environment:This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.
