The BasicsAs an Applied AI Engineer II, you will be tasked with building and maintaining best-of-breed products as part of a small and nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new products ideas are identified, our software engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying the products from the ground up, while continuously iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.What you’ll doDesign, develop, and deploy AI Agents and machine learning models to solve complex business problemsCreate and maintain backend systems for LLMs and AI Agents, ensuring high performance and scalabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and workflowsOptimize and fine-tune models and AI Agents for performance, accuracy, and efficiencyImplement and manage CI/CD pipelines for AI model and AI Agent deploymentMonitor and troubleshoot AI systems in production, ensuring reliability and robustnessStay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, AI Agents, and related technologiesWe’re looking for someone withEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceCS Degree preferredExperience3+ years of professional experienceProven experience as an AI Developer, AI Engineer, or similar roleExpert knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred), Python or Java and experience with KubernetesStrong understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)Experience with LLMs, AI Agents, and natural language processing (NLP) techniquesFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologiesOtherDemonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development, and long-term code maintainability and supportabilityCommunicates effectively, both technically and non-technically, as well as in written and oral formsBelieves in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of developmentSkilled debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environmentsHas knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new toolsDetail-oriented and passionate for creating an awesome user experienceAbout Tanium Tanium delivers the industry's only true real-time cloud-based endpoint management and security offering. What you’ll getThe annual base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $295,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire.
