Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

We are currently seeking a Manager of Aquatics to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Wildwater Kingdom attractions at Dorney Park. In addition to oversight of Wildwater Kingdom attractions, this role will assist with fall entertainment operations by hiring, leading, and managing talent day to day as assigned. The Manager of Aquatics supervises and review the work of department leadership, develops a high-performance team, and maintains labor and budget targets while ensuring guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety of guests and associates on all Wildwater Kingdom waterpark attractions, including compliance with federal, state, local and company codes, standards, and procedures including but not limited to; ADA, ASTM International, Department of Labor, Department of Health, OSHA , as well as ride manufacturers and internal safety procedures, by planning, coordinating, and supervising daily operations.
  • S uccessfully implement Jeff Ellis & Associates International L ifeguard T raining P rogram, including training requirements, operating procedures, and successfully achieving the highest audit results.
  • Complete, maintain , verify, and retain required documentation, ensuring all is up-to-date and accurate , including daily ride inspections, audits, operating checklists, zone validations, training documentation, etc.
  • Respond to in-park situations and attraction down time; observe and report park conditions to Maintenance as necessary for resolution, communicate trends and recommendations to resolve/ mitigate.
  • Oversee the operations of Dorney Park's Wildwater Kingdom waterpark , including recruiting/hiring, training, and maintaining company standard operating procedures .
  • Establishes, maintains , and improves operational procedures and policies.
  • Routinely perform as Aquatics Manager on Duty and Park Manager on Duty, maintaining a constant presence in the park.
  • Encourages and ensures a safe and pleasant work environment for all associates. Accountable for all operational locations operating safely and efficiently as well as providing guest service standards through effective planning, execution and communication.
  • Oversee the preparation of the department's operating budget and maintain control over expenditures. Prepare, receive, and/or review various records including projections, attendance reports, new ride manuals, maintenance reports, contracts, design drawings, operations reports, rescue reports, safety reports, staffing reports, status reports, purchase orders, etc.
  • Clearly describe and assign responsibility and authority for the operation, maintain cleanliness, efficiency of operations and outstanding guest service.
  • Establishes, maintains , and enforces location specific operating standards and policies .
  • Adheres to and enforces all Six Flags and specific park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies. Demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Works closely with the Business Intelligence department to support park execution regarding scheduling, time, and attendance requirements in accordance with scope of position expectations .

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree required/bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in water park operations, including 2 or more years in a supervisory role.
  • Eligibility and ability to obtain a Jeff Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program Instructor or Instructor Trainer license
  • Ability to be a C ertified Pool Operator and the ability to advise on pool chemistry and filtration as necessary and according to CPO protocol .
  • Ability to learn and perform CPR and Basic First Aid and maintain current certification .
  • Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all and promotes positive relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, and mutual respect.
  • Must be familiar with safety standards, policies, and procedures along with excellent analytical and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Driver's license required .
