Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Title: Armed Security GuardDepartment: Security ServicesReports To: Project Manager/Lead Security GuardEmployment Type: Full-TimeSecurity Clearance: T3 Background Investigation RequiredLocation: Vicksburg, MS and surrounding areas (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities)POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking qualified Armed Security Guards to provide professional security services for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities. This is a critical role responsible for protecting federal property, personnel, and assets through access control, patrol duties, and emergency response. Guards will work in a 24/7 operation covering multiple locations including harbor facilities, pumping plants, and specialized waterborne units.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSecurity Operations:Control access to federal facilities by verifying identification and maintaining visitor logsConduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas and perimeterMonitor and respond to security alarms and emergency situationsProtect government property against theft, damage, sabotage, and unauthorized accessPerform building security checks and equipment inspectionsEmergency Response & Safety:Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and security breachesProvide first aid and CPR as neededContact emergency services and security management as requiredImplement emergency procedures and evacuation protocolsDocumentation & Reporting:Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reportsPrepare detailed written reports of all activities and incidentsDocument facility inspections and security checksSubmit reports to supervisory personnel in timely mannerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBasic Requirements:U.S. Citizenship requiredMinimum age of 21 yearsHigh school diploma or GED from accredited institutionValid driver's licenseMust pass E-Verify employment eligibility verificationFluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension)Security Requirements:Ability to obtain favorably adjudicated T3 background investigationMust qualify for Individual Reliability Program (IRP)Compliance with 18 USC 922(g)(9) (Lautenberg Amendment)No disqualifying criminal historyPhysical & Medical Requirements:Pass initial and annual Physical Ability Test (PAT)Pass initial and annual medical evaluationAbility to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodationTesting & Screening:Pass initial and periodic drug testingSubmit to background investigation and fingerprintingPass comprehensive security screeningREQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING(Training provided by employer)CPR and First Aid certificationWeapons training and qualification (semiannual)Security guard training program (30+ hours)Authority and jurisdiction trainingUse of force trainingVarious mandatory federal training programsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2+ years experience in law enforcement, military, or security servicesPrevious federal facility security experienceKnowledge of security equipment and proceduresStrong customer service and communication skillsWORKING CONDITIONS & SCHEDULESchedule: 24/7 operations including nights, weekends, and holidaysEnvironment: Indoor/outdoor work in various weather conditionsPhysical Demands: Extended periods of standing, walking, and patrollingTravel: May be assigned to multiple locations within districtSpecial Assignment: Potential waterborne duty on Mat Sinking Unit (seasonal)COMPENSATION & BENEFITSCompetitive hourly wageHealth insurancePaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesAll required training providedUniform and equipment providedTO APPLYQualified candidates should submit:Completed applicationResumeCopy of driver's licenseCopy of high school diploma/GEDEmployment referencesNote: This position requires successful completion of extensive background investigation process before assignment to duties.
