Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $95,000 - $110,000 DOERole Summary:The Director of Operations is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the companys strategic initiatives to drive growth, reduce operational risks, enhance financial performance, and improve customer satisfaction, experience, and quality. This position provides strategic direction to ensure safe operations and foster a just culture. The Director of Operations works closely with senior leadership, cruise lines, industry partners, and independent sales channels to promote the companys products and services, strengthen brand recognition, and improve revenue and operating income, and maintain alignment with company goals and values.Key Outcomes:Develops and implements strategic initiatives that expand existing products, identifies new opportunities, and drive sustainable revenue growth.Ensures all operational activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and risk mitigation.Manages revenues to improve operating margins, reduce costs, and support long-term profitability.Strengthens coordination across departments to enhance efficiency, communication, and shared ownership of company goals.Represents the company with professionalism in state, community and tourism industries.Core Competencies:Leads and motivates high-performance teams to achieve operational goals, foster innovation, and support professional growth.Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills.Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.Identifies challenges, develops solutions, and executes relevant processes while collaborating effectively across departments and diverse teams.Maintains reliable attendance, with flexibility to work early mornings, late nights or weekends.Conducts oneself with the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.Success in This Role Looks Like:Demonstrates alignment with company values through leadership behaviors and decision-making.100% compliance with internal safety policies and DOT regulations.Operational processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, consistently delivering high service quality and minimal disruptions.Strategic initiatives result in measurable improvements in revenue, customer satisfaction, tour ratings, product growth and market presence.Financial goals are consistently met or exceeded through responsible budget management and timely corrective actions controlling costs as appropriate.Recognized as a reliable and collaborative leader who communicates clearly and supports team development in an ethical and fair manner while also being a liaison between upper management and the owners to ensure goals and objectives are clearly communicated and achieved.The company maintains a respected and active presence in community and industry forums, with strengthened partnerships and public trust.Requisite Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Effectively interact and communicate with peers, managers, and other Department employees.Independently manage work and schedule to meet all deadlines and expectations.Skilled problem solving,ability to identify solutions, and execute standard relevant processes.Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating across work segments and departments with diverse personalities and requirements.Reliable and timely attendance, flexibility to work early mornings and evenings, or weekend days, when workloads require.Recognize opportunities to contribute and collaborate with other areas and departments when individual workloads are light.Exceptional verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software like Polaris, Clover, Fair Harbor, etc.Conduct oneself with the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.Take on additional responsibilities to support the success of the organization and uphold company values and strategic goals.Physical Demands and Requirements:Mobility across the site.Ability to handle stress and pressure created by simultaneous demands.Ability to work on-site, indoors and outdoors, with exposure to noise, heat and cold.Ability to frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.Ability to work with members of the public, requiring appropriate appearance and attire.ADA: The employer will make reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.Experience/Education Requirements:Bachelors degree in business administration, tourism, hospitality or related field preferred. May substitute for a degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in management.No felony convictions or criminal convictions that would interfere with job responsibilities.Minimum 21 years old.
