Robert Half is partnering with our client, a leading organization recognized for creating innovative, customer-focused brand experiences across multiple business categories, to hire an Art Director for their team based in Santa Monica, CA. This position sits within a fast-paced, collaborative creative team focused on delivering high-visibility campaigns for world-class brands.Location: Santa Monica, CA (onsite)Duration: 3-month contractHours: 40 hours/weekPay Rate: $80-90/hourPosition OverviewThe Art Director will play a pivotal role in leading creative strategy and execution from concept through launch across entertainment and telecommunications initiatives. You will guide end-to-end art direction across a range of digital formats—including UI, interactive advertising, film, experiential, and out-of-home—while presenting inspired storytelling to internal stakeholders, agency partners, and client teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead creative ideation, design and execution for integrated campaigns supporting entertainment and telecommunications initiativesDevelop compelling, customer-focused visual concepts that solve business problems and deliver measurable resultsPartner with strategists, copywriters, designers, developers, program managers and producers to develop end-to-end campaign solutionsCreate brand-elevating design experiences across multiple touchpoints, including digital, voice, experiential, OOH, film, and socialDeliver polished, high-impact visual direction and UX-driven creative aligned to advertiser goals and customer insightsPresent ideas, storyboards and campaign directions to internal stakeholders, agency partners and clientsManage multiple creative projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlinesReview and refine creative assets, incorporating feedback from cross-functional partners—including Legal and PR—to ensure brand alignment and complianceDemonstrate curiosity and fascination with emerging technologies, experience innovation, and evolving customer expectationsMaintain strong organizational rigor and ownership over deliverables, timelines, and cross-team communicationQualifications8+ years of experience driving creative strategy and execution within an agency or in-house creative organizationDeep understanding of entertainment and telecommunications categoriesDemonstrated interactive storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to articulate vision and end-to-end creative thinkingPortfolio showcasing 360 campaigns, UX thinking and process, interactive/digital advertising, and strong visual design craft (variety of brands required; portfolios focused only on social campaigns are not a fit)Obsessed with measuring impact, customer relevance, and data-driven performanceProven ability to manage ambiguity, operate independently, and balance multiple prioritiesStrong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partnersHigh level of ownership, accountability and creative excellenceAdvanced proficiency with core industry tools including Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Figma, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPointFascination with innovation, emerging customer experiences, and technology-driven creative solutions
