JOB DESCRIPTION
ABR is recruiting a 1 st shift Production/Assembler for a company with a great culture in Wausau! Hours are Monday - Friday, 6am-2pm. No weekends! Great benefits upon hire! Starting wage is $19-$20 per hour.
Production/Assembler Job Summary:
In this position, you will read and interpret bills of materials and blueprints to fabricate a variety of products, work with carbon and stainless-steel tubing, pipe, corrugated, and braided hoses using both machines and hand tools and will use specialized machines and tools to prepare assemblies for welding, ensuring every product meets our high standards.
Production/Assembler Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures that all required parts for assembly are present.
• Reads and interprets blueprints for aligning components to assemble.
• Uses various measurement tools for measuring widths, lengths, and tolerances.
• Uses automatic and manual saws to cut tubing and pipes.
• Grinds, sandblasts, and deburrs metal to create a clean surface in preparation for welding.
• Responsible for rolling parts and running a break press.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Production/Assembler Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and have the ability to figure mathematics using fractions
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred)
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes
• Knowledge and understanding of reading blueprints and tape measures.
• Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge in basic math including place value, estimation, measurement, and the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and mixed numbers.
• Ability to work with hand tools, cutting machines, expander machines, presses, rollers.
• Ability to learn a variety of different alloys and thicknesses of metals and materials.
• Must have good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Must be willing to cross train in other roles and departments.
• Ability to work independently and meet production numbers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Ability to work standing and walking for prolonged periods of time up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Physical ability to work around equipment including frequent reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, and stooping.
• Frequently required to grab, pinch, hold, reach and maneuver parts and tools with hands and arms to perform precision work and carry finished product.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
• This is a manufacturing environment.
