JOB DESCRIPTION

Assembly Technician

We are seeking a dedicated assembly technician to join our team in the assembly department. The role involves working collaboratively with the assembly team to ensure efficient production processes. You will be responsible for locating and selecting the correct materials for assembly, cutting cables using a foot pedal-operated machine, and labeling finished assemblies with specific colored labels. Additionally, you will shrink wrap cables to prevent damage and cross-train in other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders/prints to locate and select materials for assembly.
  • Assist with cutting cables using an 80-foot cutting table with pre-measured marks.
  • Operate a machine with a foot pedal mechanism to efficiently cut cables for work orders.
  • Properly label and mark finished assemblies with specific colored labels.
  • Shrink wrap cables to prevent damage.
  • Cross-train in other departments to enhance skills and versatility.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2+ years of experience in picking/order selecting.
  • Experience following work orders to find products.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify colors accurately (cannot be colorblind).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in packing, soldering, blueprint reading, and wiring.
  • Skills in labeling, packaging, inventory management, and order picking.

Work Environment

The work environment is well-lit, clean, and organized, with individual work stations for each assembler. Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and the dress code includes safety shoes, pants, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
