These markets include aerospace and defense factory automation air and water quality environmental monitoring electronics design and development oceanographic research deepwater oil and gas exploration and production medical imaging and pharmaceutical research.We are looking for individuals who thrive on making an impact and want the excitement of being on a team that wins.Job DescriptionJob Summary:Assemble opto-mechanical systems in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions process documents etc.) using a variety of hand tools measuring devices and test equipment.Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:Build opto-mechanical assemblies by using assembly drawings and assembly proceduresWork with assembly and inspection tools such as torque wrenches micrometers calipers height gages and dial indicatorsSupport of optical alignment and testing of optical systemsDocument actions by completing checklistsMaintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures rules and regulationsGenerate work order material kits using printed bills of material (BOM)General lab maintenance as necessaryJob Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of assembly experience requiredAbility to read complex assembly drawings and process instructionsIndependent worker requiring little to no supervisionAbility to troubleshoot mechanical issuesExperience using standard hand tools allen wrenches screw drivers torque wrenches etc.Familiarity with computers as applicable to manufacturingPossess a solid quality minded work ethic and strong attention to detailInterface in a collaborative manner to foster effective and inspiring group dynamicsStamina: Ability to stand for extended periods often for most of the workdayLifting: Capable of lifting pushing pulling or carrying objects often up to 50 pounds though the frequency of lifting heavier objects variesMobility: Need to maneuver in tight spaces stoop bend kneel crouch or crawlManual Dexterity: Requires good manual dexterity and the ability to use hands and arms to hold control or feel objects with tasks like soldering crimping and fabricating parts being commonVision and Hearing: Must have clear close-up vision and be able to hear and understand speech.Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen U.S. national legal permanent resident asylee refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
