Position SummaryThe Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Brass Department seeks candidates for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in trombone. The successful candidate will have an extensive and successful background as a performer and teacher will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues and will be able to recruit and inspire undergraduate and graduate students in a professionally-oriented educational environment. The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music combines artistry pedagogy and research to prepare its students to fully realize the potential of the expressive arts to change lives and to enrich society. Responsibilities include studio teaching of trombone majors at all levels and in all degree and diploma programs along with coaching of chamber music. Service on Jacobs School of Music committees and participation in department meetings recital hearings competitions juries auditions recruitment activities and doctoral advisory committees is expected.
