Position Title:Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Industrial EngineeringJob Posting Number:2026067NTLJob Location:San MarcosCollege/Division:College of Science and EngineeringDepartment/School:Ingram School of EngineeringPosition Description :The Industrial Engineering program in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice to begin in Fall 2026.The successful candidate will be expected to teach and further develop industrial engineering senior-level capstone design courses, and other undergraduate, master’s and PhD level courses. The selected candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels, create and foster industry partnerships, engage in scholarship through professional presentations, publications and membership in master’s thesis and PhD dissertation committees, participate in curriculum and program development, and perform university and professional service. For more information on Texas State University’s Faculty of Practice appointments, follow this link http://policies.txstate.edu/division-policies/academic-affairs/04-01-23.html.To assure full consideration, applications must be submitted by January 20, 2026.All positions are subject to availability of funds.Required Qualifications:For all ranks:A Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a very closely related discipline.Academic background in the fields of Operations Research/Analytics, Data Science, or Systems Engineering.Research competence in the areas of Operations Research/Analytics, Data Science, or Systems Engineering evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, as well as presentations at professional conferences, preferably recent ones.For the Assistant Professor of Practice Rank:Minimum of five years of experience, with at least three years gained within the past 5-6 years, in a full-time professional practice or management capacity in any of these fields: Operations Research/Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering or related areas.For the Associate Professor of Practice Rank:Minimum of ten years of experience, with at least six years gained within the past 10-11 years, in a full-time professional practice or management capacity in any of these fields: Operations Research/Analytics, Data Science, Systems Engineering or related areas.Preferred Qualifications:For all ranks:Demonstrated teaching experience in Industrial Engineering or very closely related programs.Previous experience teaching capstone design courses.Practical expertise with Sustainable Supply Chain or Transportation Electrification or these disruptive technologies associated with Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0: Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins (DT), Advanced Robotics and Automation, Additive Manufacturing (AM), Cybersecurity, Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS).An ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple programs and departments.Knowledge about ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables.Demonstrated leadership roles in industrial engineering related professional organizations.Application Procedures:Only applications submitted through the Texas State University website will be accepted and considered, https://jobs.hr.txstate.edu/postings/55045.To assure full consideration, applications must be submitted by January 20, 2026.The following documentation must be included in the application.A cover letter that clearly addresses each of the required and preferred qualifications.
