JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Assistant Clinical Manager – School-Based supports the Clinical Manager in the oversight and delivery of high-quality behavioral services within school settings. This role assists in, functional behavior assessment and positive behavior support plan development, supervising school-based behavior consultants, ensuring clinical quality, supporting staff development, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The Assistant Clinical Manager also carries a reduced caseload while contributing to training, data integrity, and operational consistency across school sites.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support & Oversight

  • Assist the Clinical Manager in overseeing school-based behavior consultants and ensuring adherence to clinical standards and expectations.
  • Support the review and quality assurance of functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and positive behavior support plans (PBSPs) and IEPs/progress reports, as needed.
  • Maintain a small caseload, including conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and implementing evidence-based strategies (e.g., ABA).
  • Support data collection integrity and assist in analyzing behavioral data to inform treatment decisions.

Staff Support & Development

  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to school-based staff under the direction of the Clinical Manager.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new behavior consultants and school-based staff.
  • Model best practices in behavior intervention, classroom collaboration, and professional communication.
  • Help identify staff training needs and support implementation of professional development initiatives.

Collaboration & School Partnership

  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, administrators, and families to support consistent implementation of behavior plans.
  • Attend IEP, manifestation, and other school-based meetings, virtually and on-site, as needed to support the Clinical Manager and team.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for school partners..

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Assist in monitoring staff productivity, documentation compliance, and service delivery expectations.
  • Support scheduling coordination and coverage planning across school sites as needed
  • Ensure timely completion of progress reports and documentation in accordance with organizational and school requirements.
  • Help maintain compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., IDEA, FERPA) and organizational policies.

Quality & Compliance

  • Support audits of clinical documentation and data systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current on best practices, regulatory updates, and evidence-based interventions in ABA and school-based services.


Qualifications

  • BCBA certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, preferably in school settings.
  • Prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or mentorship capacity preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral assessment, and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and school personnel.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience conducting FBAs and developing PBSPs
  • Experience using Microsoft suite.
  • Experience using excel for graphing.
  • Experience training or mentoring clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and behavior management techniques.
  • Experience working within school systems and multidisciplinary teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely respond to challenging behaviors (e.g., aggression, elopement, self-injury).
  • Travel between school sites as needed.
