We are committed to building a best-in-class organization by empowering top talent with the resources autonomy and support needed to deliver results and advance their careers in a high-performance environment.Role OverviewAs an Assistant Community Manager you help the Community Manager oversee the operations of a multimillion dollar multifamily apartment home community.The Problem SolverAlways ready to take charge and find a way to fix residents issues no matter what they areRelate well to all types of personalities even if they seem to come from a totally different planetAble to shift gears quickly and often; one minute youre billing and filing and the next youre fielding a call about excessive noise or a leak in an apartmentLove listening to peoples problems and then dishing out good adviceThe Rule EnforcerGive residents what they want whenever possible but understand that rules are made for a reason and feel comfortable laying down the law when necessary Handle difficult tasks with empathy but never shy away from a challengeWont lose sleep knowing that tomorrow you may have to collect delinquent rents or even carry out an evictionShare the organizations priorities with your team making sure they follow protocol and motivating them to go above and beyond the call of dutyThe Organizational GeniusKeep track of a crazy number of details without feeling like your head might explodeCan find the fun in methodically arranging a mountain of documents into super-organized color-coded files Keep information so orderly that a third grader could easily tell which units are vacant which are late on rent and which have maintenance issuesAct as the gatekeeper of information accumulating details and documents (like site photographs and rent collection receipts) to create insightful community status reports The Impact You Can MakeResidents are so happy in your community they might just become lifers.The Community Manager can sip piña coladas in peace while on vacation completely confident in your ability to take the helm and keep the ship fully afloat.Associates vendors and residents always have the information they need because your communication skills are that goodQualificationsCommunicate effectively with people from very diverse backgroundsAble to enforce policies with empathy Resourceful problem solverImpeccable record-keeping and reporting skillsPay: $17-$21/hour.Depending on the position offered regular full-time and part-time team members are eligible to participate in a bonus program in addition to their base salary or hourly rate.Benefits: Cortland offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision life and disability benefits time off 401(k) participation voluntary supplemental life insurance and a 20% rent discount on Cortland-owned communities according to occupancy time off is offered for full-time corporate associates according to the Flexible Time Off policy.
